Hans Wegner

Hans Jørgensen Wegner (April 1914 - January 2007) was a Danish furniture designer. Almost all of Wegner's creations are made of wood. in addition to wood, he also utilized other traditional construction materials like upholstery, caning, and paper cord. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs and many of which have become recognizable design icons like the Y-chair, Peacock chair and the JH501/502 better known as the Kennedy chair.
